Strong academics and a dynamic faith environment are at the heart of the Franciscan University of Steubenville experience. 

Students choose from over 30 undergraduate programs and 7 graduate programs that include a wide range of liberal arts, professional, and pre-professional programs.  Some of the more popular majors include business, education, mental health and human services, biology, nursing, social work, theology, communication arts, and humanities and Catholic culture.  The student-to-teacher ratio is 16-1.

Franciscan University has received national recognition for helping students deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and grow in virtue through vibrant liturgies, mission outreach, and evangelistic programs.  Christ-centered friendships are furthered through the opportunity to join faith households—small groups that provide social and spiritual support.   The semester abroad program, open to all majors, is based in a restored fourteenth-century monastery in the foothills of the Austrian Alps.
